I was commissioned by agency We Are Giles to create the cover-art illustration for magazine “Grow” by facebook, Spring 2019.
The artwork was made of multiple layers and small paper-cut elements, illustrating the concept of “entertainment” through the visual of a board-game. Combining references like the famous Dutch board-game “Ganzenbord” with the more contemporary visuals of online icons, I tried to create a cover-art illustration that combines the old with the new. Each tile on the board-game represents a different article mentioned in the magazine, illustrating anything ranging from hobbies and sports, to recreational drugs and the future of digital & online entertainment.
